P3 faculty achievements recognized with university awards

Three P3 faculty affiliates have been honored this year with university awards recognizing their achievements in research.

 

Kan Wang , Global Professor in Biotechnology and professor of agronomy, was awarded for Outstanding Achievement in Research. This award recognizes two tenured faculty members who have a national or international reputation for contributions in research and have influenced the research activities of students.

 

Asheesh (Danny) Singh, Monsanto Chair in Soybean Breeding and associate professor of agronomy, received one of three Mid-Career Achievement in Research awards. The award recognizes a tenured or tenure-track faculty member who has demonstrated exemplary research performance or scholarship accomplishments as documented by peers or experts in the field.

 

Soumik Sarkar, associate professor of mechanical engineering, was recognized for Early Achievement in Research. The award recognizes a tenured or tenure-track faculty member who has demonstrated outstanding accomplishments unusually early in his or her professional career. He was one of two university faculty to receive this honor.
