P3 Trainee, Ian Braun (2016 cohort), has been awarded a fellowship from the National Institute of Food and Agriculture to complete his doctoral research.
Here's what Ian had to say about receiving the prestigious fellowship:
"I was excited to receive the fellowship, because it's going to enable me to complete the rest of my research at Iowa State as well as to share the results of that research with other scientists and the public. For my application, I proposed developing a computational tool that researchers working with plants or plant data could use to analyze their data and make predictions using language. Specifically, researchers will be able to provide a description of a plant or plant phenotype, and explore the genes potentially related to that phenotype based on how other plants have been described."
