Take the first step in becoming a certified drone pilot! Unmanned aircraft system (UAS) training will be offered on Iowa State University campus (3043 Coover Addition) from December 6-8, 2019 and will be provided by Kansas State Polytechnic.

This three day, classroom based sUAS Commercial Remote Pilot course (small unmanned aircraft system) covers all the basics for UAS pilots, including Part 107, airspace, meteorology, safety procedures, and other topics included on the FAA written exam. Those who have taken the K-State Poly course have passed at a rate of 99% on the FAA written exam. You can see a full schedule of the course and details online at https://ksu-uas.com/suas-commercial-pilot-training/

Participation in this 3-day training is $100 and does not include the cost of the FAA exam, which runs an additional $150. Instructions on how to find a testing center and schedule your exam will be provided at the end of the training.

You can register for the event here. Payment will be requested closer to the event date.

This course is being organized by the Predictive Plant Phenomics (P3) program, an NSF NRT. The P3 program will be covering the costs for 15 participants. If you would like to be considered for a P3 grant, which will cover only the registration for this training (a $100 value), then please fill out the P3 grant section of the registration form.

Please contact Nicole Scott (nmscott@iastate.edu), P3 program coordinator, with any questions.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS EVENT IS ONLY OPEN TO IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS, STAFF AND FACULTY.
