P3 Program Trainee Travel Application

Each award year (September 2017 – August 2020), the NSF NRT Predictive Plant Phenomics (P3) Program sets aside funding, a portion of the NSF NRT award for trainee support costs, specifically established for trainee travel. This is for travel to scientific conferences, meetings, or symposia as related to the trainees’ degree and research focus, such as the annual meeting of the Annual Society of Plant Biologists (ASPB) or the ACM Conference on Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, and Health Informatics (ACM-BCB). Please note that international travel is excluded (except travel to Canada).

This funding is available to all PhD students who are pursuing research in the area of Predictive Plant Phenomics, regardless of whether you are active in the P3 program. The professional travel scholarships are available on a competitive basis.

Please note: the amount to be reimbursed is limited to the amount awarded, or the lesser actual value. You will not be reimbursed for any amount over what you requested and, subsequently, for which you were approved. You will only be reimbursed for the actual amount spent. You may request for P3 to pay the costs directly rather than reimbursement but you must work with the program coordinator to arrange the payment.
